Spring rate?
I'm looking at a pair of front springs for my camaro, and the rate is 233/448
What is that? And is it good for my setup? In a few days I am upgrading to bilsteins, all new bushings, ball joints & tie rods, just to get rid of bump steer. Will I benefit from these springs?
Nonlinear springs are designed to give a better normal ride while being firmer when the higher rate coils come into play towards the last half of suspension movement. Your springs are 233lb/in is the first set of coils and 448lb/in is the rate when the 233lb/in coils become fully compressed. Since the front suspension has so little movement, 233/448 lb/in front springs might work out ok - or it might be a Jekyl and Hyde thing...
Linear springs are just that a single spring rate throughout the whole suspension movement.
