I am experiencing wheel hopping. I've had a couple of people say that it is probably 99% that my shocks are worn out. Theres 91k miles on the car. The shocks have never been replaced. I've seen a few posts of people saying shocks go out around 60k. Well if it is my shocks how hard are they to replace?

Re: Problem with Shocks?
wheel hop would be the back shocks, which i personally haven't replaced on my Camaro, though that will be changing in the next week or so, but i've done it on various other cars, and it's really easy, the worst part is if the bolt is rusted on or something. Do it yourself definitely, shouldn't be hard.

Re: Problem with Shocks?
Changing the rear shocks wasnt that bad....even with me doing it laying in the driveway with no air tools it was only about a 1-1 1/2 hr. As for the fronts, go ahead and take it to a shop and let them do it, well worth paying for it not to hassle with those.

Re: Problem with Shocks?
Alright thanks for the help....Can I get away with just doing the rear shocks and wait a few months to do the front? And Im in college right now and I dont get summer break till May 5th. And I dont have any other way of getting to school. And what would be like a estimate of what it would cost to do the front shocks?

Re: Problem with Shocks?
When I had my front shocks AND springs installed, it cost me $176 bux....it took about 4 hrs for the shop to get me in and out, so be prepared to wait a while. I know it sounds like a lot of money, but it was well worth it not to hassle with it. Besides, removing the springs from the shocks without the proper tools or knowledge can be pretty hazardous.
