I didn't fully take the calipers off, I only unbolted them, i hung them from the wheel wells so i didn't risk getting anything in the lines. Anyway, I replaced my rotors/pads thinking this was why my brakes sucked, but they are no better after the swap. $60 sounds resonable, I might look into that a bit more after i try the flush, hopefully this weekend.
if the calipers are dry then you r ok. the pistons have rubber seals that can leak over time. if it's dry, then no leaks. the power booster might need 2 b replaced. try bleeding the brakes, then go for the booster, and on from there.
2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!
Did you support the calipers instead of letting them hang by the brake lines?
Did you clean all the machining oils off the rotors really well, then clean them again after you installed? Are the caliper slides properly lubed with the right grease?
What pads did you put on? Did you bed in the pads properly?

My brakes have never felt like they are working as well as I would expect them to. After driving my dad's LS, the truck, and the exploder, my brakes seem like crap compared to them.
Ideas, Suggestions?
Because you have those SMALL 10.5" rotor, single piston front calipers. That's why I installed the 98+ 11.9" rotor, dual piston front calipers.
If the pedal goes to the bottom, usually there is a leak somewhere or a bad master cylinder that has an inside leak.
If the brake pedal is hard to press, there is usually just a leak in the vacum hose/line from the motor to the brake booster, or it could be a bad booster.
When thats fixed, a set of pads would increase your stopping distance a bit and "stamina" of your brakes, reccomend new fluid if its old, so you dont boil your fluid and loose your brakes.. A shop could usually check the boiling point of your fluid, I just use DOT 4 fluid, some like silicone fluid because its not hygroscopic.. (Hygroscopic = attracts water/air humidity that gradually lowers your boiling point) And less "water" in the brake system is also = less chance of rust in the system.
Hope that helps a bit...
By the way im gonna swap to a Bear kit this weekend.. 335 MM / 13.15 inch rotors.. Its the GT Plus kit, I sure hope that helps on the brakes.. actually i think the stock ones are okay, nothing to get excited about, but whit good tires and okay pads they surpriced me.. I got the Y87 option package though..

My pedal seems harder to press down than most the other cars i've driven, so i'm thinking it's probably the booster now. i still haven't replaced the fluid but I'm going to soon.
Tell us how those brakes work for you, I've got Y87 too, but I since there's something wrong in my brakes now I can't say i'm happy with them.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
