    Hey just got some rims.
    17 x 8.5 (fronts)
    18 x 9.5 (rears)

Now im looking for tires and wondering what will fit.

rears - 265's/35/18 will they fit?

    what does the 35 mean?

first number is the width of the tire, second number is the sidewall height, last number is the diameter of the tire.

the first and second are in MM the last is in inches btw.

9.5 your fine going to 275 i belive.

front i think you can go 265. i know stock size you can only go 255, so 265 on an 8.5" should be fine.

You could, if you wanted, go bigger on the back. All the way up to 295 if i'm not mistaken.

Course you shouldn't be asking us really.. either you ask the tire shop you're buying them on, or you look it up on tirerack.com, which is the only other place you'd really be buying tires.

Actually the second number, 35, is not MM. It is the height of sidewall but it is a percentage of the total width, that being your first number of 265. So to make it a little easier to understand. Your cars tire will be 265mm wide and the side wall be 35% of that which would be 92.75MM and the 18 of course is your rim size in inches.

As far as helping you on what would fit that I cannot do. I'm with Fireball and ask the rep your buying tires from.

255 is the widest you can fit on the stock 8in wide wheel, although not everyone will agree that that is the best choice.

brad94, it would depend on the width of the 17in rim.

A lot of people have 275/35/17s and don't have any trouble with rubbing. So on those skinnier tires it should be no sweat.

Heres a fbody wheel/tire table off of ls1tech
                    that might be useful.

The numbers in the columns are as follows:
WIDTH ..... OFFSET ......... WIDTH OF TIRE

                    Front and Rear

                    7.0" ..... +35 to +40 mm .... 215, 225, 235
                    7.5" ..... +35 to +45 mm .... 215, 225, 235
                    8.0" ..... +38 to +55 mm .... 225, 235, 245
                    8.5" ..... +38 to +45 mm .... 235, 245, 255
                    9.0" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275
                    9.5" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275, 285
