If the guy said his dad built it and it was built for x-crossing and he said his dad knows about suspension related stuff why is everyone telling him what he did wrong. If you match up the correct componets to work with one another that how is it wrong? If it's so dangerous why are they selling a 21mm bar? If he said he's driven it in adverse conditions and had no problems why is everyone still bringing it up. Really, all you have to say is nice set up.

When I see things that are out of place for a car driven on the street I'll let him know. The choice in LCA's are what caught my eye. If the car was set up for auto-x poly would not be the choice... in fact it's worse than stock in most cases. I honestly know a lot more than most when it comes to suspension as does bob. If you want a test we can go get into a panhard relocation vs a watts link discussion. I just enjoy suspension and how you must plan it out so that everything works together, and I'm seeing some things that might not do that well in his setup. So no, I won't say nice setup until I know it's a nice setup. Sorry if I'm coming off as an ***, I don't mean to.

alrighty, we have poly bushings on our sway bars for the most part. they are not revalved i think they are the HD's. the adjustable PHB was used to center up the rear end when the lowering springs went on.

dangerous or not, i like it. i personally dont know much about suspension work. all i know is that basically everything in the suspension has been changed. in fact i cant think of much that hasnt been changed.

if you dont think its safe thats alright. but i was just curious as to what brand firehawk went with and now i know. needless to say i doubt i will continue this conversation.

Alright, I would prefer to keep fellow f-body drivers safe but I'll shut my mouth. If you ever want to learn about suspension post up some questions or call/email sam strano at stranoparts (great guy). Anyway, good luck and have fun, sorry if I pissed you off.

no hard feelings man. but i didnt do the suspension so i cant really say a whole lot. i just know that my dad did everything... i dont like discussing things that im in the dark about. so no hard feelings i was just lettin you guys know.

no clue as to what the spring rate is... my dad put the suspension together with some Bilstein SS shocks, lowering springs, sway bars, panhard rod, all new poly bushings and LCA's

Good. If you have any brand of lowering springs you have a higher front spring rate.

don't take me wrong but why do people buy stock stuff from the v8 and put it on a v6? you are better off going aftermarket specifically for the v6, at least in this case.

Yes but for the price the 32/19mm sway bar combo is pretty good and very neutral after shocks and springs are upgraded. Also the 19mm rear bar is one of the best options out there, most aftermarket options are too big and are geared more towards drag racing than handling. The only thing better than the 32mm front bar is a 35mm but costs a good bit more. The 32mm front bar from the SS/WS6 is also a hollow bar which helps keep the weight down. There are a few 35mm hollow bars like the strano bar which would be the best option IMO if you have the money.

Just out of curiosity, how hard is this upgrade to do with one person who is VERY limited on car knowledge? I've wanted to upgrade my sway bars for awhile and I have nothing more than a few jacks and stands. Could this be done by one person? Does it affect the alignment at all? Thanks for the info. I'm tired of my car trying to sway off the road when I corner.

Yes it's very easy but only upgrade the front one if you aren't wanting to do your shocks and springs as well.

Why so? Is it all tied in together and not worth it otherwise? I'm not opposed to replacing the shocks and springs in the rear as well. I just haven't considered the options for that upgrade yet. I probably should anyway. My shocks (front and rear) have 121k on them with no change.

For one your shocks are worn out and you should replace them. 2nd, the front shocks and springs are very time consuming to do so you should just do them at the same time so you only have to do it once. Lastly the stock shocks even in perfect condition don't offer the proper damping for lowering springs. The only two shocks that properly damp IMO are Koni's which are about 700 bucks for all 4 and the revalved bilsteins that sam strano sells for about 500. If you just can't spend that much you can get away with bilstein HD's. Stay away from KYB's, they just aren't great dampers for our cars IMO.

I'm certainly not looking for lowering springs. I like the stance of the car the way it is. I bottom out leaving my driveway on occasion as it is. The original shocks seem to still be doing their job but I'm not opposed to replacing them. I've read article saying they should have been replaced already due to the mileage.

I'm considering the Bilstein HDs because I've read good things about them. Would they work well with the 32mm front and 21mm rear sway bars from Suspension Techniques?

actually on our cars you are really only hitting the air dam that stick straight down on our cars... helps cool the engine... sound horrible during scrape but really isn't, happens to me all the time... the bad one is when you go over big speed bumps and bam! you nail the underside of the car on the way down... not good
