The other day I installed a used Lt1 steering rack on my 94 at first I had to block the pressure and return hose on the pump because the fittings had rust welded onto the lines at the rack end so i caped the lines filled the pump with fluid and started the car it ran fine the car steered freely besides the fact that I had no power steering... I got the lines and hooked them up according to the GM manual cause i forgot which line went were... filled the pump back up started the car and now the steering wheel feels wierd it wil turn but it feels like its trying to return to center like the pump is missing a beat... I think that there is just air in the pump/ rack/ lines cause the oil is airated full of bubbles but i am not ruling out the possibility that the lines could be backwards... so what do you guys think is there a way to bleed the system? or do i just need to let the air work its way out... im kinda lost so any help would be great, thanx

Re: installed Lt1 rack and now have odd feeling in the wheel?
you bleed it by running the steering from lock to lock 12 times or more with the engine off and wheels up off the ground. repeat if necessaryLast edited by BLLDOGG; 05-04-2007, 08:34 PM.

awsome so thats what the symptoms appear to be is air in the system and not the lines crossed correct?
