I have a 2001 Camaro V6. I bought the C6 Z06 Wheels 18x9.5 for it. They have a +50mm offset. I'm thinking of buying 275/40/18 tires all around. My question is will they rub anywhere and will there be a big fender-well gap?
I currently have RS ground effects on the car. Thanks in advance guys.
On the rear youll be fine with no problems. Now for the fornt you may rub when you turn the wheel either way especialy if you have an aftermarket front lip. Now personaly I htink 18's are too big for our car and wouldnt go any bigger than 17's. The added weight will slow you down, but too each there own. Good luck with the setup man.
I dont think it would rub as much as an aftermarket front lip. A stock front lip on a Camaro or Firebird are more flush than an aftermarktet piece. I run 17's and I rub a little bit on my fron Wings West front lip on the inner side of the fender well. If you rub at all it will just rub the paint off and you will barely notice that cuz of the wheels being there and I doubt many other people will notice it. All you can do is try the setup and see.
I have the 18x9.5 AFS C5 wheels on my car with 275/40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS tires and don't have issues, but I'm not an RS. I have stock suspension and a stock body. The tires in the front are real close to rubbing when I cut the wheel all the way to one side but they don't actually rub. So for you, who knows, you might get lucky and they won't rub, or you might not be so lucky and they might rub a little bit.
My wheel specifications: +54mm offset, 7.35" backspacing
1996 Polo Green Metallic Camaro:<br />SLP CAI, Carsound/Magnaflow 3\" in/out cat, Flowmaster 2.5\" cat-back... sounds great
I'm running ZR-1's 18x9.5 with 275/40/18 and I have the stock ground fx with stock suspension and I have no issues at all, believe me it is very close, but its not gonna rip your bumper off or anything...
run some 275/35/18, and ur sure to not rub! 275/ 40 / 18 might be alittle sketch with the 18's and the wheels/tires might end up to tall. you never know.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
