  • Lowering + Non-Adjustable Panhard

I'm looking at the eibach prokit lowering springs it's a 1" drop front and back. nothing very big.

I had a bit of a search around the suspension forum its been discussed a little bit but I dident see anything reguarding this small ammount I want to drop the car.

I have an aftermarket Panhard bar that is NON-Adjustable. Do you guys think I can get away with a 1" drop without putting the rear-end out of wack to much?

    Let me know! Thanks!

BTW: My rear-suspention is sagging so much now that it's probably greater than a 1" drop already! and I have no problems now.

put the springs in and see what happens. some people don't experience much of a rear "shift" to the pass side w/ a small drop. when i put my springs in it was very noticeable, so i bought an adj. phr to center up the rear.

The eibach kit tends to lower more than an ince. I'd suggest the hotchkis springs over the eibachs.

Is the price around the same?

one other thing about deciding on whether to go with an adjustable panhard rod. You won't know for sure until after you lower the car and the springs settle. Then you'll need to get it on an alignment rack and see what the thrust angle is.
If it's too far out of spec than yes you will need an adjustable one. No way to know without putting it on a rack first. My car is relatively stock height and I really need one right now.

Adjustable lower control arms can also help adjust the thrust angle.

It's an inch dude... and it is a nice small drop. maybe you are thinking of the sportline which is 2 inches... which I would probably do if I could go back but don't have the money.

the panhard bar is great. i had to make an adjustment to center the rear by less than half inch, but i'm not certain that centering it made a significant difference.

Ok folks, let me post the trigonometry again. Maybe someday this will be stickied.

Assume the PHR is 4-1/2 feet long, and is horizontal before you lower the car.

If you raise or lower the car an inch, the rear axle will shift 0.010"
If you raise or lower the car two inches, it will shift 0.042"

Seriously, the side to side build variance is a lot more than lowering will cause.

Yes the hotchkis springs are about the same price. Also I would be extremely serprised if you need adjustable LCA's, it takes a lot more than you think to really need them. Odds are you will be fine with just the shocks and springs.

Can't argue with math. I'm buying the springs!

So Eibach pro kit? or the Hotchkis?

I know im going bilstein for shocks.

Here are the spring rates and the amount the kits drop for most spring manufacturers for our cars. http://www.lastofthebreed.com/Servic...ngratedata.htm

Also before you just go and throw some springs on the car what are you wanting out of your car? Handling or just the look?

If I wanted "just the look" I would have bought a mustang! LOL

                              Handling... any advice?
