  • Custom Fab'd Rear Jounce Spacers

Bought a set of 10 spoke SS 17" yesterday, and I didn't feel like paying $30 to SLP or waiting until next week for it to get here. I had some 3/8 aluminum laying around the garage and decided to make my own. Lucky for me, my dad has always had a milling machine, drill press, and lathe in the garage.

Had to mill some out to make it fit flush...

I have pictures with the wheels on, but I haven't washed it yet. It's almost 100 degrees outside today and I was dying getting all of this done. Wish I had room in my A/C garage!

looks good, must be nice to be able to do something like that at the house and on the cheap to boot!

I didn't need the lathe for anything I did with these. But I was just mentioning that it's nice to have that kind of stuff in the garage if need be.

About you not having them and no problems, I was about to throw the wheels on without them, but I wanted a little extra security in case I had people in the back and the car was weighed down, etc. Besides, I plan on lowering the car in the next couple of months, so I'd probably need it then.

i took out those bumpstop spacers when i lowered my ss.
with the eibach pro-kit, i kept hitting the bumpstops hard.

Then you run the risk of rubbing the tire on the inside of the wheel well. I'm planning on doing the pro-kit w/ revalved Bilsteins soon, and I hope I don't have trouble with the bump stops hitting. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

the rear doesn't rub at all... i can get the fronts to rub sometimes, but that's rare and not very harsh - looks like it just brushes the top plastic part of the wheel well.
