  • Where to get best price on shocks and springs

I went through the entire list of suppliers in the sticky and found fast toys to have the bilestein shocks for 340, all 4, and the eiback pro springs for 240, all 4. These are the brands I am looking for and am pretty much stuck on just these brands. Thunder racing had shocks for same price but springs were 100 bucks more. Rk sport had springs for 225 with 30 shipping. I need to make order with fast toys to get a shipping price from them.

I just want to save myself some money. Does anyone know of any other places that these would be cheaper. Thanks

Ebay for KYBs. I got mine for like 230 I think.

Springs are fine to get used. I'd look on LS1Tech. There are always tons of spring sets going for cheap.

I still like bilstein better than KYB even though they aren't adjustable. The rebound rates are a little better than the KYB's. I would highly recommend agains the Eibach springs. On a budget I'd recommend Hotchkis springs. The spring rates and drop on the Eibach is not really as performance oriented as the Hotchkis.

I don't need adjustable shocks as I wouldn't know how to set them correctly. So I should go with the Hotchkis? Guess I need to search for the cheapest for them. I just want to lower the car but have a quality spring in there.

Yeah, the eibachs are know the sag over time making the drop even more than advertised. The hotchkis springs drop the car 1" as advertised and the spring rates offer a much better balance for handling as well.

try bimmerparts.com you will have to fill out their form but they will repsond with an email with prices for everything they carry.

Unless you find a good deal 340 shipped is about as good as you will get on all 4 bilsteins.

Not a problem. Hope you like the new setup when it all on, it will be a huge jump in performance from stock. BTW post up when you go to install them if you plan on doing it your self so we can try to walk you through it. Installing springs can be dangerous so it's important that you have all the right tools and do things correctly.

Well I have another post on here about me removing the springs and stuff last night. I used my floor jack to keep pressure on springs and then just lowered rear differential down and the springs almost fell out. There was no pressure what so ever.

The rear's aren't really the problem area, it is the fronts. You have to use a spring compressor on those.

on that note I'll throw in my $.02. I love doing my own stuff to my own car and all and I did rent some spring compressors and do my own front springs but if I had to do it all over again I'd highly recommend just taking them to a shop that does suspension work and let them swap the springs/shocks. after your take them off the car, shouldn't be more than $20 and it's well worth the hassle. It will be faster, easier, safer and can make the project go much smoother.

I thought the dangerous part would be reomoving the springs, not installing new ones. Well for now I just need to get these ordered and worry about my other thread in this section of taking apart the rear suspension.

In all seriousness thanks for all the help from everybody!!
