    Re: best tires?

If you're talking about drag racing the wider the tire the more rubber you will have in contact with the ground; thus better traction, but more friction.

A lot of people run 245s on their stock rims without a problem.
Also on a side note the softer the tire the "stickier" it will be meaning more traction, but will generally wear out faster.

I personally wouldnt run less then 235 on an F-body unless your in one of two situations
      1) its really wet where u live...i.e rains alot, always wet roads
      2) if its a winter tire.

wider tires offer better grip and traction in dry weather...but much crappier traction in wet weather.
Wider tires do offer better handling capabilities.

              post whore! :p

I went from 225/60 to 245/50 and just the visual improvement was enough to make it worth it. That's too much sidewall for me. Most guys on here run 245/50s

i would never buy tires smaller then 245 on a fbody, i have 275/40/17 Riken Raptor all around and like them alot. $500 for all 4 mounted..

I hope your ride is smooth. I get back those 275's and the chrome rims to the tire shop since the ride was too roughly. It is not the car, it has been checked everything about suspension by the dealer and two mechanincs. Everything is OK. So I went back with 235's and the sweet and smooth ride came back.

fbird97 if your thinking to get wider tires, and smoothness it's not an object go for it. I admit that every car may react different to other sizes.

Do you mean Fulda? If so I had those when I first put rims on my car. They were awesome. I would dump clutch at 4500RPM and it would just chirp the tires and go. I hit a 90degree turn at 45MPH and made it, at 55 the *** end came loose on me. The rubber was so soft that a year later I had to replace them.
