The Bird I'm purchasing has drums/shoes on the rear. How hard is it to convert to disc brakes? The dealership put new shoes on, but I don't like that style of braking.

What part # do I need(For the whole axel), and how hard an install is it? Something I can do with some basic tools, or something I need to have a shop do? And with the entire axel, will there be anything else I need to purchase? (Other than a LSD :D)

The swap isn't hard per se. Taking my time to take pics and stuff, it took me 2 days for the full swap (I had to make some mods to my axle as well). I followed these http://www2.turbov6camaro.com:81/rear.htm

You can look in glove box to check what the car you get rearend from had. It will say GUx. The x will be a number and you can search it on here to find out the gear ratio.
If you get a whole rearend the LSD will allready be there, just try to get one that has backing plates for disc allready installed on it so the only thing you'll need to buy are rotors and calipers, and brake lines are diffrent. You have metal lines that go into drums and disc have a rubber line that comes off metal line to caliper just like front calipers. I'd try to find a rear end with brake lines still attched and then you can just swap out old rubber lines for new ones. Anywhere that sells them, or am I reduced to hunting through junkyards? >.> I'm also debating which gears to get. I like having top end because I do a lot of distance driving. Don't want to be running 4-5k RPMs when I'm cruising the interstate at 90 mph. >.>
