I could a really good deal for a set of shocks/lowering springs for my car but I dont know if the springs will work on our v6s...I kno the shocks will but what about the springs???
This is the kit that im getting from the guy. Its for an LS1
Bilstein Suspension Kit, 1993-02 F-Body
Includes 4 Matched Shocks and Springs. Lowers vehicle approximately 1 inch.
physically will they fit? yes. The problem is that the V8 springs were designed for the extra weight of the bigger engine, so from a handling standpoint they are not the best choice. I know there are guys on here running V8 springs. If you search you should find your answers quicker, i know i remember threads talking about this. Otherwise I'll wait for someone to chime in that has a little more know on the subject.
yeah i did a search and they said it might lower it only .66 of an inch and I would have to probably put my isolators back in my car which would make the back come a bit more too...but who knows wat it would really look like?
i'm running v8 springs (all 4) from an '02 trans am on my 96 3.8. they'll fit just fine and you can't tell much difference in ride height. i think the ls1 is about 100 lbs heavier than the 3.8? however, you'll see no improvement in ride comfort or handling, both will probably drop somewhat. i'd stay with all around v6 springs unless you are planning on dropping a v8 into the car.
