  • Right side hanging too low.

I have a stupid problem (and question).

Since I bought the 98 Firebird back in December I noticed the right side of the car sat a little lower on the right side than it did on the left. It's always bottoming out on the right side. I can take it the same route, hit the same spot all the time, and never bottom out on the left side. I've had new rear springs installed (they were lowering springs, but still higher than the sagged stock springs). I still bottom out on the right side only. I can stick my hand in the left side, and rotate my wrist a little until I hit the top of the wheel well with my hand, but on the right side I can only move my wrist about 1/2 the way until I hit the wheel well.

Why do you think my right side would be sitting lower than the left?

I'm using stock 3.08 gears, never messed with the rear or anything of that nature just yet.

well most of the fbodies are lower on the passenger side... perhaps due to compensating the weight of a driver, but I don't think it should be as noticeable as you bottoming out on one side and not on the other.

I'll take pictures of my left and right side. Also, of the bottom of the car where you can obviously tell the car has bottom out over a hundred times (the black paint scrapping off exposing the yellow primer).

Yes, stock springs where hitting just as much as the new ones. I had the mechanic install the springs for me. I wont touch anything that would require me messing with the suspension.

Damn, so much for that idea. Maybe the cure is to get new stock springs, and not lowering springs. The thought of that scares me. I don't like the big gap in the wheel wheels.
