Coilovers

Hey whats up guys, no I havn't been banned or suspended c(=
Just been busy with school wok and the TKD team. I now realize how much extra $$ i have each quarter from school. I was looking to get a set of kick *** coilovers for my 00. I love taking my car up to the windy roads, when i have time. Any suggestions as far as for brands and models to go with. My current shocks still feel good, but my car needs an alignment, so might as well get this done.

I dont know a lot about coilovers. I just got eibach's and KYB AGX shocks. But I hear that these coilovers are really nice. http://www.lmperformance.com/824/13.html

what other suspension upgrades would require an alignment after i do them, that way i can get them out of the way

basicly anything that changes the drive angle of your steering or rearend will require an alinment

Never heard of that kit, I have the Ground Controls and like it.

Why do you want coilovers vs a spring and shock package?

dont go with coil overs... a good shock/spring combo are much better for our cars. and if you choose to autocross, coilovers send you waaay up in the rankings.

my suggestion..

top and most expensive choice : Koni adj shocks (i have them, they ****in rock) + strano springs

middle: Bilstein revalved shocks + strano springs (ordered through strano)

bottom: kyb agx ( i think its called) + hotchkiss or eibach springs

Blip: Huh? As long as they use the stock mounting points, coilover kits like the Ground Control kit (but not the LG kit) put you in the same class as a spring and shock upgrade, namely Street Prepared or Street Touring classes. Shocks are allowed in Stock but not springs.

By K&N adjustable shocks you meant Koni, right?

I do agree that for general handling, esp autocross, Strano springs have replaced much of the need for the coilover kits by providing a great spring rate and drop, saving a couple hundred bucks.

For a dedicated race car, coilovers + koni DA's have the edge due to the wide choice in spring rates and damping which can be tweaked to match the track.

well, the thing is i like to take my car up the mountians, especially with heavy turns. would shock/springs be better than coilovers in the hils?

Strano springs and shocks will be fine in this case, and you'll save a couple hundred bucks for more mods later.
