i just installed one of my new drilled/slotted rotors (driver rear to be exact) along with new pads and shims, but after i got it all together and put the wheel back on there is an extremely loud whine coming from them. to narrow it down, it only does it in a forward gear, not reverse. i havent went over 5 mph because it just sounds like something bad will happen if i do. i know theres supposed to be some noise from new pads, but this is way too loud.

suggestions? i thought i might of over torqued the calliper bolts, but i took them off and re-torqued and it was still the same.

hmm... what kind of rotors and where did you get them. Maybe the rotors aren't perfect and are rubbing the caliper/pads.

the cliaper is probably pressed on to tight to the roter. Did you used a c-clamp to push the pistions back in?

They are R1 concepts rotors and pads made specifically for my car. yes i did use a c-clamp to compress the cylinder, i think your right meaty, but like i said i tried loosening up the calliper.. idk

one thing i didnt mention was when i took off the stock rotor, it was very hard to get off, and i hit it with a rubber mallet a couple of times, then i forgot that i had the e-brake on (lol), so i hope that didnt mess up anything.

fixed it! had the parking brake out of whack, and that was the problem. i think this was actually answered in another thread, but i didnt understand it at the time.

the caliper wouldnt fit back on if he didnt, and if it did, it would crrect itself the first time you press the pedal down
