Re: Lowering Springs Install!! Pics Inside!!!

I installed my rear Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs myself...really really simple. For the fronts, I just took it to a tire shop and let them do it. I didnt want to buy a spring compressor for a one time use, plus I didnt feel like having that much pain in the A$$. It took them around 3 or 4 hours and if I remember correctly, it was around $170 bucks, but well worth it in my opinion.

Oh yeah i knew that. But after reading a few posts where people were complaining about how much of a pain it was, or about having to air chisel the rusted top nut off of the shock....I figured it would be worth letting the shop deal with it. Between that, the intense Mississippi heat at the time and the fact I dont have any air tools at the house, it would have taken forever for me to get it done.

I'd suggest getting new endlinks if you don't have an extra car and a nearby auto supply store. I replaced My front sway bar the other day and broke one of the two endlinks. The one that i did successfully get off, I was very tempted to cut it with bolt cutters. It took about 2 hours and half a can of penetrating oil to get it off. the other broke in about 2 turns. I called a good 5 autoparts stores and no one had them in stock so i had to order them. They'll be in tomorrow.

Sorry for the thread jack, but did you also do the rear corners and did 1 can of Nite Shades do all of it? I'm highly considering ordering some right now.

My springs are on the way, so I will be doing this mod soon myself. I am still not sure if I will have a garage assemble the new springs for me or not. I have the manual compressor, but it is a b!tch. I will let you know how it goes.

The same goes for my garage. I should get a sign that says that and put it over my toolbox.

yes I did the front corners, rear corners, and 3rd brake light using VHT Niteshades, and it is very possible to do all of these with one can IF you know what your doing, if your like me you will want them to be perfect so you'll end up painting them, then sanding them down and re-painting them 3 or 4 times before you get them right. Like I said before just do some research and I'm sure you can find some good tutorials on how to VHT them correctly.

32mm SS bar with poly bushings and endlinks.

As for the Niteshades, one can has so far smoked my front corners, rear corners, tail lights, and third tail light and there is still a good amount left, but I also know how to paint.
