  • Best brake pads for the value???

Well my brakes are squeaking like crazy. I got some new pads awhile back and I don't like them at all. They were some cheap ones that the shop had and threw on the car. I brake more frequently now that I live in a larger city with more traffic. Any opinions or reviews???

I looked on ebay and Hawk pads seem popular... any others? If anyone has any experience with a brand that they love then let me know.

I have Hawk pads and picked them up from pep boys and they were a huge improvement over "best" pads from autozone

I put some of the duramax gold's from Autozone on my fiancee's 3rd gen, and I like them better than the stock gm pads I have (temporarily) on my car.

I was running Hawk HPS pads. They had good bite and I never noticed any fade during regular or hard street driving. My only complant would be that they dusted alot, but I wash my car frequently so whatever.

Best pads for the value? I guess it depends on what you want. If you want to stop very quickly with lots of bite it's hard to beat Hawk HP+'s. They do dust a lot and take a few stops to get to full braking force when cold. I'm sure any name brand quality ceramic pad would be more civil on dusting though not stop as well. Beter brake pads aren't optimal without the best tires though, since your tires are what actually determine how fast you can come to a stop.
