Re: Strut Tower Brace Works? SAY WHATT???

I can attest to fact that a STB would stiffen an already stiff f-body front end. I to felt a slight increase in turn in reaction, less deflection, and smoother corning with the STB only when my car was stock.

Removing the STB will show stress marks like rubbing paint on the shock towers themselves as the STB counter acting cornering forces.

After years of driving with on and then without...handling is obviously more spooky at the limits.

40 mph marked turns can be easliy made at 60-65 with our cars...with correct mods.

Re: Strut Tower Brace Works? SAY WHATT???

i slapped on a hotchkis stb onto my car. felt my steering wheel a bit stiffer. i really dont notice a differance entering/exiting freeways. I remember boing up to the mountains:
        1. every time i went up the same route, my avg speed increased
        2. avg time slowly decreased
        3. i became more familiar with the enviornment so i knew what was coming

i could easily take 20-30 mph turns over 50, excpt for this one 270 degree turn. I havnt had a chance to take my car with the bar to the mountains because of the rain. but like i said the turns entering/exit freewats i felt no differances

Re: Strut Tower Brace Works? SAY WHATT???

Here is my experience with the STB...

I had a 94, it had 90k, and was in a wreck, I got a STB, made a difference, I felt a differenct going over speedbumps, felt stabler in corners(not sure if it cornered better but jsut felt more "confident")

I sold the car, bought a 2k with 35k on it, pristine shape. I drove it a little bit, then threw the STB on, felt no difference whatsover. So I sold it...

My "credentials" I autocross alot, done a few roadraces, dragraced an asston, and I feel that I have a great "***-o-meter" when it comes to dialing in mods by "feel"

My personal opinion, not going to do much... UNLESS... you have an older high mileage car, or a chassis that is not 100% And well pretty much all f-bodies are older high mileage cars :)

so i have a 199k car:(, then the STB maybe will make a difference , i'll consider to put one in my car btw my dash is cracking, maybe for the chasis flex? or the subs, well, the next buy for my car will be the STB
