  • 32mm front sways

Hi, I'm interested in the 32mm front sway bar for my 98 v6 firebird. Should I swap out the end links and bushings with polys at the same time? It has 18k miles, and is in pretty good shape.

I plan to get Meineke to swap them out...is there anything required, other than what's shown in that ebay auction?

    Thanks,
    Rick

i would get ones. But i wouldnt pay anyone to swap in a sway bar. Do you have any idea how easy it is?

Ummm...I have no idea what's involved. Are we just unscrewing bolts, or is there more to it?

Yes, do the poly's. They make almost as big a difference as the bar. Climb under the car and look before you pay someone to do it.

Definitely do poly endlinks and bushings.

6 bolts. Pretty darn straight forward, but the old end links can take a while to get off because they are generally on there pretty good. Generally it's more time effective to cut them off, but it's not impossible to get them off with a wrench. I definitely wouldn't pay someone to do it.

It's a very noticeable difference, you should be happy :)

I bought the same sway bar off the same guy, its new condition. I also asked the guy if he had rear sways but apparently he only has fronts.

easy job, get poly's, do it yourself. just jack your car up, study how the current sway bars are connected, and then go at it.

I had to pay meineke to do mine because I was tearing the bushing bolts. I didn't have an impact but it really pissed me off to pay someone to do such an "easy" job but I just couldn't get the mofo off so had to suck it up and pay them to do it. Didn't look at your link but get the energy suspension endlinks.

I'm going to piggy back a question on this thread. I hear the 82-92 rear sway bars will fit, is this true.

                          Thanks for responding everyone.

On the Summit web site, I found the parts. Do I need qty 1 of each, or 2 of each, to do swap out the front sway bar?

well you need 2 of each, (2bushings and 2 endlinks)
but they are typically sold in pairs so just 1 kit of each

yep, look at the "Quantity" on the site, it says "Sold as a kit."
