just realized yesterday that when I turn my steering wheel, theres a squeaking sound coming from the drivers side wheel area. (not sure if its on the other side too, but I could hear the drivers side) anyways, freaked me out and Im not sure what needs to be repaired. I did a search on here and all I could find is someone reccommending flushing your power steering fluid or something like that. Doesnt seem like that would fix the problem, would it?

a few weeks ago, we had a ranger come into the shop that had a similar squeaking (alot louder and worse than mine though) and it needed new ball joints, I believe. Thats whats making me thing its more problems than just power steering.

suggestions, anyone?

yea same thing happen to my brothers car and it was the ball joints....wasnt so much of a squeaking as much as a rasping or grinding sound....

ugh exactly what I didnt want to hear.

anyone got a guess as to how much it would cost to repair at a shop. or like a website or something that would have the repair procedure or whatever so i can do it myself?

actually i was just looking it up and ball joints are alot cheaper to buy than i thought. anyways, whats the best way tell if its the upper or lower ball joint?

and the noise in my car definatly isnt a grinding noise, it is very clearly squeaking. could it something else other than the ball joints?

mouse caught inside... LOL just kiddin.... im not sure if its ball joints because i didnt hear anything or felt anything when mine went... all it did was fall to the damn ground....
