  • any ideas?

my car just rolled over 90,000 mile and ive still got the stock shocks and springs, so needless to say its time to get new ones. im rather sure im gonna get bilstein shocks. im still kinda shopping around on springs because i dont really dont want my airdam scrapping all the time but almost all aftermarket springs are gonna lower my ride...

is there any mod to make the airdam scrape less. i know i kinda need the air dam to push air over my radiator, but could i like cut an inch off the bottem of it and still be fine? has anyone come up with a good way to not scrape as much(besides the obvious dont drive over railroad tracks, pot holes:slap:, exc)?

best thing to do if you dont wanna scrape, is buy new stock springs at an auto parts store. If your really that worried, then dont go aftermarket like Eibach and such. If you cut your airdam, your taking away the air that is needed to cool your car, and it was built that big for a a reason.

The only way to not scrape is to jack your car up so it looks ugly and doesn't ride close to the ground. I was thinking of lowing mine but I scrape now even with the angle i go onto my driveway, so lowering would be even worse for me

Stay away from bilstein. Not only are they next to impossible to get at this point, but also don't put out the same quality as they used to. Don't get me wrong, they used to be great shocks, and are still decent, but there are now much better options out there. Tokicos are more widely recommended as a replacement for Bilsteins, but it depends what you are going to do with the car. Are you keeping stock height? I assume so since you hate the scraping..

i love my bilsteins, had them on my camaro for almost 3 years now. never had a single problem with them and have been nothing but happy with them.

Bilstein fronts are not available new right now and have been on back order for almost a year. The backs you can get new. From what I was told is Bilstein will be the last set of shocks you'll ever have to buy.

Guy on camaroz28 has all 4 for sale for 250

It took me a long while searching for used front bilsteins so if you want Bilstein then you should jump on these.
