  • 2in drop, what shocks?

    Well guys... I am in the market now for some new shocks because the ones that came in my 2 inch "SpringTech" drop kit sucked a** and are now shot after only 4,000 miles...

    What shocks do you guys recommend for my car??

    I LOVE my 2inch drop and would really like to keep it that low.

    valved strano or KYB adjustable is what alot of people are going to steer you to most likely.

      Yeah... Schlotzky recommended the KYB AGX adjustables for my 1.75" drop.

          ok, cool. Thanks for the replies, I guess I'll be going with the KYB AGX's.

          Now I know they are adjustable, but how so? Ride height? Or just stiffer/softer?

          Thanks again yall..

            stiffer / softer

IIRC, i read that 8 was 127% stiffer than a stock shock, so as long as the springs you have are less than or around 130% stiffer than stock springs, they should work out for you alright. I picked them up off ebay. apwonline is the seller.

            edit: here's the info:

            Here are the advertised dampening rates from KYB for the 8-position adjustable AGX, shown as a percentage of a "factory" dampened shock.

            1 = 95 (5% softer than Factory)
            2 = 100 (Factory damping force)
            3 = 107.5 (7.5% firmer than Factory)
            4 = 115 (15% firmer than Factory)(GR-2)
            5 = 143.5 (43.5% firmer than Factory)
            6 = 172 (72% firmer than Factory)
            7 = 197.5 (97.5 firmer than Factory)
            8 = 223 (123 % firmer than Factory)

              I had both the KYB adj and the revalved SLP Blisteins with my 2in drop.

              Bliestein> KYB

              FWIW.

                And is Strano the only place to get revalved Bilsteins?

                  I dunno. I know Strano has some quality stuff, but I don't know if they are the same as:

                    I was told Strano is not recommending Bilsteins anymore.

                      ^yes. I heard directly from strano that he isn't likely to be recommending bilsteins again. They've gone down in quality recently and just don't compare to the older bilsteins.

                        When did he say that? They have been on back order for almost a year so nothing has been coming out, good quality or bad quality.
