Front sway bar

I was reading somewhere that its smart to unbolt and/or remove the front sway bar for better traction. Does this make sense? I thought it was important.

The only time you would want to remove your front bar is for drag racing when you won't be needing it.

Thats true, my ST35mm weighes 33lbs, it is cominf off for the track.

You will notice more body lean in the turns. I drove mine without a front swaybar for 5 years.

I thought with no front sway your front bushings will go bad quicker.

No front sway on my TA for the better part of 5 years. I ran my V6 bird with no sway bar for a long time as well. Never really noticed any difference in driving.

There is quite the difference if you actually pay attention, especially in quicker maneuvers on the highway. Emergency evasive maneuvers is where you really need it. I drove without a front bar for a few days and I was quite happy when the new endlinks came in.

yep... you probly won't notice it too much if you just go out and drive normal, but if someone swerves in front of you on the highway when you're going 70... you're better off with the sway bar

Research understeer/oversteer. You will not notice it on everyday driving, but when you will when you need it the most. Running everday without = dangerous.

I just got a new one to replace the broken (yes broken front swaybar!) and it is a night/day difference.

Without the front swaybar it drove worse than my mom's van. Diving and swaying and generally feeling unstable. I didn't know what was wrong with it until I crawled under there the last time to fix something else and I noticed that it was broken ~6" from the endlink.

Got a new on in and now I think it might have a chance at keeping up with my fiero in some of the local S-curves :)
