I Just bought a rear set of duralast brake rotors for my car and now a week later the rotors have succumb to ugly oxidation. The stock front set have been on since '02 and not one milligram of rust appeared.
I'm just wondering if all cheaper rotors have that problem or is there any tips or products that prevent this problem. Anyone Know?
quality iron always generates alot of surface rust. Take a spin around the block, and it'll go away, with no real damage or structural harm done to the rotor
obviously i was joking, if you were dumb enough to actually spray wd40 on your brakes you deserve what you get.
anyway it wouldnt really do much, just smoke up when they got hot
its like spray painting your entire rotor red haha
naw the zinc coating is worth it. It eventually comes off where the brakes and rotors meet, but the part around the hat stays nice and rust free
Meaty, we live in AZ where we don't have to worry about rust, just the high temps. F@cking hot toady, what was the temp 109 or something. I haven't had any problems with my R1 concepts going on alomst 4 years now and thats front and back. I beleive ceramic pads have alot to do with it.

i spray wd40 on my brakes and that takes care of the problem
A friend of mine's GF wanted to be nice one day and detailed his car - including putting armor all on the steering wheel. He gets in and almost crashes because the wheel slipped out of his hands!
