The other day I suffered a blowout while on my way to a wedding. I wound up going to a goodyear to get my rear tires replaced before continuing on down to the wedding (another 60 miles away). While it was on the lift I noticed the driver side had this hard foam padding in the shape of a triangle attached to the body just in front of the rear shock and coil springs. It had two screws holding it in from the top and it looked like it would rest on the axle when the car was lowered to the ground. I then took a look at the right side (which always bottomed out), and there was nothing there except flakes of a dry-rotted piece foam and screws holding the remains of what might have been the same upside-down triangle. I then went back over to the left side and poked the foam and it fell off. It was totally dry-rotted. Now, I bottom out on the left side just as bad as I do on the right whenever I hit the slightest bump. I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I can get this foam padding.
The piece of foam is in my car, and I'll take pictures of it later if it will help.
I've looked at gmpartsdirects diagrams, and this image closely resembles what I'm talking about:
