I think you should have more faith in aluminum! airplane wings man...
if this was a simple tubular piece like the bmr one, I'd agree with you, it would flex too much.
However I think most of the two-point systems have no chance of significantly affecting the handling of a 3000 pound car...

        Re: strut bar

From the looks, the size of each of those tubes combined would not even come close to equaling the size of the single tube that the other brands are made of. In this case, a single aluminum bar of equal size to BMR and the like would likely be stronger than these two. Plus you know they aren't solid, they are tubular, and one can only guess how thin the walls are. The strength of aluminum compared to steel is no question.

I always forget that I have my STB installed until I go into an incline driveway at an angle, when I am reminded from the difference in feel of the car. I can feel the difference with it on or off, and no one is going to convince me otherwise. I put it on for appearance, thinking that's all it was, but immediately noticed a significant increase in front end stability, with high speed maneuvers and entering driveways. Body roll is almost entirely eliminated with the addition of my 32mm front bar with ES components.

Suspension is a system too. One must keep in mind to feel a significant difference, one must upgrade the system as a whole.

It seems like the upper panhard rod acts as a sort of shock brace. Not really connecting the shock mounts, but adding additional horizontal support.

I have removed the upper piece on mine and can't tell a difference, but all my suspension is upgraded so I think it will just put more stress on the Panhard bar.

                      Re: strut bar

I have the BMR stb and I noticed a good difference once I put it on. About 3/4 of a mile away from my house back home there's an S-curve between two pretty big hills with a bridge at the lowest point. Any car I've ever driven down that starts to feel real light in the front once it hits the transition from the road to the bridge, and I always got a gliding feeling until I hit the road again. Once I put the stb on and hit that the first time, the feeling was completely gone.

I noticed a small difference when I installed my BMR. Seemed a little more sure-footed.

                          Re: strut bar

ups man came today! Got it out of the box and on the car. Intall was very unusual. I have pics, but they suck (cell phone) and look pretty much exactly like mikes. You'll notice on his pics that out of the box the bar comes with brackets that come off the bar like _|---|_
however you'll also notice that they have to be installed backwards. like this |---|. well you get the idea. Also they were not the right length to fit on the struts, which is weird. I had to do a lot of adjustment. I don't think the vendors know anything about domestic cars, but it did eventually fit pretty snugly.

got a chance to drive it as well, and I am fairly impressed. It wasn't of course a night and day difference, but it definitely very noticeable. In case I couldn't feel all the subtleties of the cars handling there were some big obvious differences: when I started the car it didn't shake and wiggle as much, and when I corner hard, the chassis doesn't creak and complain hardly at all (it used to make a racket). Also, as steddy said above it overall seems to grip a little better and have a bit more confidence going into a turn. It seems to me to correct a little bit of understeer, but thats probably more of a "driver mod" :).

Anyway, overall, I'd say its a lot to gain from a $30 part, though I'm sure the $100 ones are better. And the best part, wasn't mentioned on the ebay page, is the Nopi motorsports bobblehead. OMG. I've always wanted one of these!!1!1!!!!1!!!! Smileyface complete with bling and spiky hair. wtf???

yehh. I might accidentally back over it in my driveway.

pretty tight. I may adjust some more this week. I wish I could eliminate the bit of forward/backward torsional play, that's putting a lot of stress on the bar but shouldn't affect performance.
