Brake Drums

On my 97 camaro im using brake drums in the back...i would like to know if i would have to replace the rear just to get disc slotted rotors instead of the ****ty drums....if so how much will this cost

You don't have to replace the entire rear to use discs. However, it may be more worthwhile to replace the whole rear, then you can get disc brakes, LSD, and a higher gear ratio.

did this on my 96 cheap, about 120 bucks with used parts. see the write up in the modification reviews section.

^ thats what I did, great write up. I think mine was around $200-$300 total, used drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic pads. Also use the shims.

not to be thread jacking here but,

i am about to get a deal on a whole rear end out of a 99 ss, my car is a 96 a4 drum car, to go from the early style brakes to the newer ones what is needed? i thought i had read something about the hoses being diffrent between the lt1 and ls1 style rearends.
