  • Going above 50 and I get a rumbling noise from the rear

Like the title says, I get a rumbling noise from the rear when I'm going above 50, also above 50 the car starts to shake as well. I think it's just the tires are out of balance. Anyone have any other suggestions on what it is?

Yeah, but if you're rear tires are out of alignment on a solid rear axle car, I think there are bigger problems to worry about...

On top of what the other members said, also check your u-joints. If they're going then it will cause your driveshaft to vibrate and your rear end to shake. They should be replaced every so often anyways.

tie rods on their way out could be it also...except that would probably manifest itself more on acceleration, not just over a specific speed...
