So I'm trying to change the front brake pads on my 97 Camaro.
I used a 3/8 hex set to remove the 2 bolts from the back of the caliper. I thought it would just slide off and I could put the new pads in. But the damn thing wont come off of the rotor. I've changed brakes on my Grand prix before where the caliper just slides off and thats it. Whats up with this?
When I come across something thats been exposed to extreme heat, rust, ect.. I like trying a penetrating oil called PB Blaster. Auto Zone has it in a spray can. I swapped out a set of rotors on my Tundra truck and had to remove the back mounting bolts for the caliper. Did a spray, waited 10 or 15 mins and presto !
Pry the inner brake pad against the rotor to release some of the pressure the piston is putting on the brake pad. Thats what I do and it just comes right off once the piston is no longer applying pressure to the rotor.

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
