    Re: rear springs

obviously ur not using a lift but u can see the propper place to put the jack stands on the rear of the car. Do this on a flat area I do however from time to time use my driveway and its got a decent slant to it. Chock the wheels with anything large; they sell chocks at auto stores, large brick or landscaping retaining wall brick. Ill back it in and chock the front tires (chocks supplied from work :) , i use them on all planes and never had a 757 roll away from me yet)

u have to use a floor jack or the factory jack in you trunk (i have to use both because my car is so close to the ground) Jack the car up high enough to get the jack stands unerd there in the propper place and you should be good to go.

"are the jack stands ontop of those back plastic pieces?"
That is the jack stand - black base and yellow top. Come in all diff colors and sizes but they all look just like that.

One important tip: before u get those tires off the ground loosen the lug nuts. With the tire up in the air u wont be able to get them off because the tire will just spin.

      Re: rear springs

is there a need to take the tires off?

I still dont understand where to put the jack though, so that I can get the stands under there....like to me, where the stands are supposed to go, I need to put the jack there inorder to lift it as well....

        Re: rear springs

There's plently of room on the frame to put the jack, then put the stands beside the jack.

Technically, I guess you don't need to remove the tires, but the extra room will make life easier.

the only thing that I think of is if the tires are still on and it falls I live....if the tires are off and it falls, I die...

            Re: rear springs

no need to be under the car if the tire is off. U can get to the lower bolt just fine from the side of the car. And the car shouldnt move on the stands. And for good measures just place the jack on the pumpkin like maro did in the pic he posted and leave it there. It not suporting the car just there incase. Just another fail safe.

ok....so we can jack the car from any flat spot under the car then I am assuming?

The jack I am using is the stock one in my car, hope that is ok...

                Well, any strong flat spot.

I have serious doubts about you pulling this off with your factory scissor jack though... especially lowering the rear to drop the springs out.

You know, they sell those little cheapy combo sets where you get a floor jack and a pair of stands.

You can see how the coil gets much smaller on the bottom. It will also only fit into the little mount on the axle one way.

                      Re: rear springs

so if you have one of those floor jacks, is it ok to jack the rear end up by the differential, then throw the jack stands under? Or is that not such a good idea?

Yeah, that's doable, just make sure the jack isn't on the diffy cover.

                          Re: rear springs

well, I did the install today...took me a good 2-3 hours, an ATV jack, floor jack, and 2 jack stands lol....

first hour was just feeling things out and tryna figure out how to get the shock bolts off because the lca relocation bolts were in the way...I figured it all out though....Thanks for all the help again guys.

Car sits a little higher in the rear now, and she handles like a dream....extrememly smooth over speedbumps and that is on settion #8 on the shocks right now....everything will be fine tuned tomorrow when it is light out again.

                          Thanks.

They do make a difference. To me, it made the car feel more solid.

lol....most of my time was spent on trying to figure out how to jack the car up so I could move the jack stands....or how to get to the shock bolt with the sway bar links etc in the way...if I had to do it again, it would probably take me an hour or less taking my time....and I wouldnt need the atv jack this time lol....and that is also without power tools to take the wheels off etc etc....

and yea, feels A LOT more solid....Actually the other night on the DVP (really bendy highway speedlimit is 90) I set the cruise on 113...EVERY SINGLE CAR, including some nice looking beamers always on the brakes going into the corners....I just had the cruise on and was in the left lane, she took it soooo sooo smooth. I swear the car rode like a dream...didnt feel like it was leaning or the tires were fighting for traction....just smooth as butter. Love it.
