  • LCA bushings bad??

So my car is kicking when I shift it into any gear, and my mechanic thought at first it was the u-joint but he looked at that and i guess thats fine, now hes saying the bushings on my BMR LCA's are prolly bad.. Pretty sure I had the Poly/Poly setup.

How would this happen, or how can someone tell? And if they are, how would I go about replacing them?

there isn't much possibility of an poly lca bushing going out imo. Sounds more like a transmission mount to me. Could you describe the noise better?

Before I even read Schlotzky's post I too thought it could be the tranny mount.

If it is the tranny mount thats an easy fix.

Well it was just happening when I switched it from like Park, Reverse, Drive, but not when it was in Drive shifting through gears 1-4. It did start happening right after I started my car up and it threw a Check engine light because my Mass air flow sensor went out, but i had that replaced, and when I picked up my car from the mechanic after getting that replaced, it hasnt done it again, and Im not sure if he relized that it wasnt doing that after he put in the new MAF sensor or if maybe he did something to temporarily fix it, Im not sure I called and left him a message about it but would that hard kick be a symptom from a bad MAF sensor??

um no it wouldnt be from a bad sensor. if it happens when shifting between park, reverse, drive it definatly sounds like a transmission mount to me.
