  • power steering fluid leak

I am having a leaking issue with my 97 3.8l camaro and would like to get some informed opinions about this. The leak is obviously power steering fluid because I have added 2 cans to the system in the last 2 weeks. There is also fluid stains on my driveway but only when I am turning out of it. I have not had the time to identify where the leak is coming from exactly either.

    Here are my questions:

Seeing that the leak is most prominent when turning in extremes where is the most likely place that the leak is originating from?

Also how much time and money is involved in replacing it?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would first look at the pressure hose coming from the pump. The pressure hose will have crimped ends and a threaded fitting on it, unlike the return hose that just has clamps on it. With the hood up and engine running, have someone turn the wheel to the stop and see if you can identify where it's coming from.
