32mm/17mm sway bar

So, I was doing some research, and I would love to upgrade my suspension a little more.

My car is a 96 3.8 camaro. I have Kyb agx adj shocks, moog rear shocks (104lb) spring rate, stock front springs, lca relocation brackets, I believe 17mm rear sway bar (stock)

I just want to verify before I go ahead with anything....is it ok to have a 32mm hollow sway bar (front) and a stock 17mm rear bar?

I know this will reduce body roll...but will this make the car trickier to handle, or unsafe?

would imagine it would stiffen things up, should be dangerous at all. alot of people have only upgraded their front sway and not their backs. and they are just fine

No, i was told you would want to do the front one first, but i would get a 19mm down the road.

32/17 works fine. i had that for over a year.

i recently upgraded to a 19 rear bar, but i did some other stuff at the same time. so i cant say for sure exactly what the difference is. i think its an improvement. i didnt do any specific before and after tests though. :(

i have eibach springs (93-97 v6 kit) and (the original?) slp/bilstein shocks.

Bone, since you gave me such good advice as to how to install the springs....your going to have some PM's soon regarding the install of this front sway bar lol.....

Thanks guys. I was pretty sure it was ok from what I was reading, but I kept reading about guys with bigger bars in the back, and some of our suspension "specialists" saying it's not a good idea....

PM away my friend. But I'll tell you, there's not much to say about installing the sway bar. It's about as easy and straight forward as it can get.

As far as big not being better, you have to keep in mind that a suspension is a system, and each part affects each other part. Springs, bars, bushings, tires, shocks, weight, driving style, etc all come into play. Just because a 21mm rear worked for someone else, doesn't mean it'll work for you. Having those adjustable shocks will help you dial your setup in.

id reccomend a lift (who wouldnt?) or ramps to install the front bar. the suspension is supposed to be in a loaded position when you tighten down the end links.

also inspect the bushing mounts for any cracks. it seems to be a common failure in the auto-x crowd. i broke one when i hit a curb.:(

Yea, thats what I thought when I was trying to install this k&N intake I just got...should be easy as pie...stupid elbows that don't wanna fit and an hour later :rant:

anyways I guess really the only questions I'll probably have are A) whats the hardware I need endlinks and the U-shaped bushings right?
B) How do I get to the bolts by the A arm there? Is it just a deep socket, stick it over and its out?
C) wheres the best place to put the jack stands lol....

Yep. 32mm bushings and most likely new endlinks (might as well)

You remove the top bolt on the end links and the entire assembly falls though the bottom. Reverse to reinstall.

C) wheres the best place to put the jack stands

Anywhere on the sub frame most likely.

I don't know; can't say for sure. Look where my jackstand is... see the bottom of it on the lower right side? Basically, it's about at the same position where you would put the factory jack, just a few inches further under on the subframe.

beauty...that metal piece around the U or D shaped bushings there....do I have to buy that as well, or can I re-use mine?
