Hey I want some suggestions...I have a 1997 Firebird with drum brakes on the rear, and 3.08 gears. And...soon I will install a rear end from a 2002 Firebird Trans Am with M6... That rear end came with the 1LE rear sway bar.

I dont know the size of my stock sway bars, and neither the 1LE rear sway bar of a 2002 FBody. But I want to know if it would be fine to use the 1LE rear sway bar, with my stock front sway bar. and I ask this, because I'm having some concerns about the stability of my car.

    can someone help me?

U definately DO NOT wanna use a 1LE rear sway with ur stock front bar. U should switch ur front bar as well to a 1LE 32mm. You can get one real cheap. I cant remember the size for the 1LE rear bar but I wanna say its 26mm. I think I may be wrong there. Im runing v8 bars on my car and it handles very nicely along with Energy Suspension endlinks and bushings. The reason u dont want to use ur stock bar with a 1LE bar is it will cause oversteer and can be unsafe to drive. Or maybe its understeer. I cant remember which but Im sure another will chime in here and back me up here.

Also have u changed ur shocks to stiffer shocks or plan too?

well...to change the sway bars wasn't part of the plan for now...the thing is that the guy who sold me the rear end, he sold it including the sway bar...and I had in mind that maybe it cannot be used with my stock front sway bar, but wasn't sure. And right now, I don't have more money to buy the 1LE front sway bar, with all the bushings and endlinks...

A 32 front and 19 rear is a nice setup. So I would look for a 32mm front.

You've got a 17mm rear, the new one is 19mm. Your front bar is 30mm, so it wouldn't be as bad as a 98+ guy running a 28/19 combo, but you should put that 19mm bar in storage or sell it, because you won't want that over steer you'll get from it. It's a nice upgrade, though, if you get hold of a 32mm front.

I personally am runing a 32/19 setup but I also have a full suspension with them so my car feels real tight around cornering.
