Re: E Brake!!
The E-brake is self adjusting, either your rear brakes are shot or the E-brake is shot, trying to slide is just going to more harm than good to your car. I would look at getting a Honda or a Toyota.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

I agree 100%. Please don't do this with other people around. I'd hate to hear about how you finally got it to slide, but took out four other cars because you couldn't keep control.
EDIT: Also, if you have drum brakes on the rear, I wouldn't expect a gianormous amount of stopping power...Last edited by Mr. Logger; 09-22-2008, 03:13 PM.'99 Mountaineer AWD 5.0 - 4300K HID, Some Bolt-ons

and using the e-brake isnt needed on RWD cars to "slide"
if you want to do it, put an ls1 in your car or something that can at least spin the tires

Re: E Brake!!
just crank the wheel a lot and punch the gas in low gear (on a manual, if its an auto this is pretty impossible and you shouldn't be trying to "slide"/drift an auto anyway. It will not work and your car will hug a fire hydrant)

Re: E Brake!!
The E brake on a rear disk brake car is a very small set of drum brake shoes on the inside of the rotor. They just plain aren't large enough to do what your asking them to do. They are made to hold a stopped car in place, not lock the wheels while your moving. Do a change over to drum brakes and you can slide all you want using the E brake.sigpic

Re: E Brake!!
This is only 98+. Pre-98, it worked just like regular rear brakes. Before I did my rear end swap, I could lock up my drums like crazy. In fact, I put a nice flat spot on my rear tires because of it; every time I drove after that, the car "bounced" because of the flat spot. Since I did the swap, my e-brake hasn't worked :(~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~
