  • driveshaft safety loop?

So, I have heard that it is mandatory to have one if you have radials or slicks on your car while racing.

If I buy one, where does it go and what is involved in installing it? Anyone have any advice that has done this before?

    Re: driveshaft safety loop?

The loop bolts up around the shaft and keeps it from flying off, hitting the concrete, and destroying stuff if one of your U-joints were to fail. I've never installed one, but I've seen them installed on TV. It just bolts into place around the shaft and shouldn't take very long.

but does it replace the tunnel brace? or where does it go?
Also, do I need to take the driveshaft out inorder to install one....I have heard some people say that you need to pull the interior carpeting as well...

See this? http://www.jegs.com/p/Jegster/744057/10002/-1 With how the bolts are and how the brace is made you can bolt it up around the driveshaft without removing it. Where you mount it might be specified or maybe it's wherever you can around the front of the driveshaft.. I'm pretty sure they're made so you don't do a pole volt in case the front of the driveshaft were to drop.

Well yeah. Heh, 5 minutes to jack the car up.. 5 minutes to remove the brace and install the loop.
