So my work parking lot has a growing theft problem and i want to reassure myself about my rims while im working. I have TT2's so they need to be acorn style to center the rim properly on the hub. I also have longer wheels studs on the rear as i was only grabbing two treads with my 11'' wide rims on the back.

I would like to have all the lug nuts look the same, im kinda anal. I cant find a closed end wheel lock for my larger wheel studs out back. Can anyone help.

What is the offset on the 11's, I would think you would be able to get more thread lenght on the stock studs. I always get my chrome wheel lug nuts from a guy on ebay comes with lug nuts ,locks ,stems for around $30 I think it was. I'll see if I can find the ebay link for ya. Heres one don't know if it is the ones I bought but the price looks the same:

        Re: Wheels locks

they are standard 11" TT2's, not sure of off set and don't really have the time to look it up right now. My mechanic recommended the longer wheel studs because the air tool would pull it on with one little pull of the trigger, his face was priceless lol. They got 2 or three threads.

Those look nice and the price is nice but they dont look long enough for my rear.

Can i cut the studs down?

You can cut studs down , but I wouldn't reccomend it. You might mess up the thread, just get the right studs.

              Re: Wheels locks

These might be long enough as they would be about 3 mms longer then the ones in the link but would be pricey to get 20 of them as they are 13 for a set of 4 but that's still cheaper then 4 new wheels.

                Re: Wheels locks

I dont put alot of faith into wheel locks. If someone wants to steal your wheels bad enough, it wont stop them. They make PLENTY of special tools you can buy to get off ANY type of wheel lock.

                  Re: Wheels locks

Make every lugnut a different lock. lol

Alarm with proximity sensor. Maybe even a mercury switch to trigger when the car is jacked up. Not too many thieves gonna continue to hang around when an alarm is going off. Even if alarms always go off and people ignore a lot of them, they still draw attention. Get a siren that speaks. People aren't used to it and turn heads. I wired in two sirens with different tones. Both would go off at the same time and sound funky as all hell. Did the trick perfectly.

PS, you can buy sirens separate from the alarm. Most any siren will be compatible with most any alarm as well. They're just a power and ground wire. With any alarm, when triggered, power is put to the siren output wire.

That is until your car gets stolen and you wish you had bought one.
