Hey guys I'm looking to lower my Firebird and am trying to decide which kit to use, the Eibach Prokit (lowers about an inch) or the Sportline (lowers about two inches). I was wondering if anyone who has lowered their car could post some pics and let me know which kit they used to help me decide.
Thanks
I used the Eibach kit an for the most part happy with it, but with whatever kit you but you should also get a adjustable panhard rod. I didn't and now when I hit a bump the fender hits my driver's side tire. It hasn't damaged my tire or anything ( I went to the tire shop and showed them, they said that the damage is cosmetic only.) but hearing it is really annoying.
Well, for one - our cars do look better after a spring-drop - It says it will give a more agressive stance. I suppose that's what you meant by aesthetics
I refused to lower my Camaro. I think fbodies look terrible lowered, esp. when they already have a factory body kit like mine did. I think you would want to stay away from the sportline though. I had that kit on my Cobalt and it hit on speedbumps, I can only imagine what an fbody would do that much lower.
I did a 1.5" drop with my Eibachs back in 96' after weight reduction of the front it has brought my front end up about a half inch. So the car sits about even with the rear.

it's for aesthetics and for handling, I don't feel like 2'' is a lot but I just want to hear from some people who have done it and if it's too much for city driving.
And did anyone use the v8 springs? I'm thinking about just getting those in case I do the ls1 swap down the road

v8 springs are firmer they would raise your car, the v8 guys use ours to get a drop
Most of the mainstream brand springs will drop your car and give it some better stability and handling, but eibachs aren't necessarily at the top of the list as far as pure performance. If you're mainly doing this for aesthetics, then go for it. If you are mainly doing it for performance, there may be some better options for you, however they may not lower the car the same amount as what you are looking for.
I would go with the hotchkies, or strano springs. They have better spring rates and wont ware out your shocks as fast if you are still using stock shocks. You will still want to get new shocks though. Hotchkies /strano springs are much easier to match up with good shocks then eibach springs are because of the amount of drop/spring rate they have.
It's not cause the amount, it's more that they are progressive.
And I have the sportline kit and love it. But one thing.. It's just for looks. Wheelhop = omg. When I go to the track I change my rear springs back to stock. And don't hit any big bumps.
I'll show you some before and afters
Before
After
(in the exact same spot as the 2nd pic.. grass is just taller)
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
