  • Discs and drums, different master cylinder?

A nice quick answer, hopefully. One of the members of my local F-body group claims that the master cylinder is different between a Camaro with disc's and one with drums in the rear. I don't believe this is true, and can't even find two different master cylinders for the Camaro's on any web site.

Can someone verify this for me so I may rest easy?

Same part number for 93-97, and 98+. The fact that 98+ came with rear discs may be the issue here.

Ok, so no need to change the master cylinder if I am following you right.

I have a 94 camaro and went from drums to disks with no problems.
You can also go to advance auto website and go to the different years that your looking for and get the part numbers for a new master cylinder.
I think you will find that there all the same.

^ Same here , 96' Camaro put on rear discs with no problems, might want to get the shims though. I ended up having to use them on mine.

Shims that go before the backing plates so it won't squeal when you turn. Look at the write up on it for the part #'s for them. Write up is down some for the swap, in the write up's section.
