Re: cutting springs?
Don't cut your springs. If you're wanting the back to sit a little lower or even with the front, do a search on the heater hose mod. If you're wanting the whole car to sit lower, look into getting some aftermarket springs.'99 Camaro

Re: cutting springs?
Our rear springs are tapered. Once cut, they will not fit in the car correctly. My buddy cut the coils in his bird. After leaving the shop, he lost a coil on the high and rolled the bird at full speed. He's lucky to be alive. ...ended up looking something like this.

I can see where the car drops after loosing a spring and it going sideways till it hits something and rolls

Re: cutting springs?
No.....please refrain from cutting your springs. Not only is it a ricey thing to do, its severely unsafe. Do yourself a favor and investing a few hundred on performance springs, if your going to lower it/performance reasons.Last edited by FireFox89; 03-15-2009, 09:33 PM.

Re: cutting springs?
Fondle, i think it's safe to say the best thing to do is pick up an eibach kit or springs of your choice...cutting corners is not worth an unsafe vehicle obviously. plenty of us on here have used lowering springs with great success, so find what you like and we can help you out from there. I love how mine turned out, definitely worth spending a lil extra.

Re: cutting springs?
I know someone who cut their springs on a 95 Camaro and the spring broke loose while his g/f was driving it, the end result wasn't catastrophic, but it ended up cutting the tire, and doing some other misc damage... if she'd been on the highway who knows what could have happened...Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..
Custom interior...
