first off, i didnt post this in the suspension subforum, because i really dont have a problem, just a question

but what do you guys think about kyb gr2 shocks?

i need new shocks bad, and i have very little money.. is there anything else that is better, for cheaper?

i can get a set of 4 gr2 shocks off of ebay for $200

lmao, this should still be in suspension. I dunno about gr2's but my KYB AGX's are nice.

        Re: shocks

This is still appropriate for suspension, so I'm sure it will stay here.

I haven't heard anything about the gr2s, but if your short on cash, and really need shocks, there is nothing wrong with getting some cheap replacements from autozone and the like. Monroe's have been said to be better than stock, and certainly better than worn out stockers.

              Re: shocks

What about SLP-Bilsteins? I've heard they give a better ride than stock and will last a lifetime. From what I can gather, they are Bilstein HD's revalved for a SLP springs, or is that bull****?

not sure, but if they are around $200 i will consider them

                $250 being the absolute max

                      Re: shocks

i have gas-a-just on my beetle, i use it for auto-x, and they are good. really cant tell cause i have a super stiff suspension already, but they are nice, and good on the wallet.

                        Re: shocks

thanks, i guess i will go with the gas-a-justs

im thinking anything will be better than the stock ones with 140,000 miles on them.. and unlike everyone else, im not looking for some performance shock

if they work just like a good set of stock ones will, im happy
