Well its about that time, my rotors are squealing like crazy when i go to brake and they are worn down pretty thin. Anyways before I go drop some bank on them I was looking for some advice on what kind to go with (front and back) I dont care about brand as long as they work and dont wipe out my funds haha.

After a number of calls I found an Autozone in Winchester that was open and had a caliper in stock, so I ran out at lunch time to pick it up. Long story short the reman'd caliper was a piece of junk, and I spent so much time trying to get it back on and not leaking that I was only able to get out for one more session - and even then I had to come in 1/2 way through the session because the corner workers were reporting smoke coming from under the car (caliper was still leaking). Thoroughly po'd, tired (I had worked as a pit marshall for the 12-hour the day before), and dirty I packed up the car and decided I could limp home if I took it easy on the brakes.
On the way out of the track I noticed when I did apply the brakes there was a thumping sound coming from the front wheels - and I could feel it in the steering wheel as well. I cursed again, sure that I had now also warped one or both of the front rotors. I got the car home, parked it and decided to wait until I could get a replacement caliper to look at any of it. The replacement came in Tuesday, so I changed out the caliper - the new one went on without a hitch - and went to pull the front wheels to look at the rotors. What I found was the left front rotor had cracked in two places, one of which was probably 1/8" wide at the worst point. I realized then that someone must have been watching over me Sunday, because without the leaking caliper I would probably have run all 5 track sessions, and who knows when that rotor could have let go...
The relevance to this thread? The rotor that cracked was one of the Summit brand drilled/slotted rotors. The front rotors had been on the car a little over a year, and had probably 25k-30k miles on them - almost entirely street driving (the rear rotors were also Summit brand, but had just been installed). I had done a couple of sessions at Summit Point's Shenandoah circuit earlier in the year, but that track is nowhere near as hard on brakes as the main track is. Now I'm not saying the Summit rotors are junk, and with the mileage they had on them I really can't even comment on their usefulness on the track; but what I will say is if you have these on your car, and have any significant miles on them, you might want to think twice about using them for any "spirited" driving (probably good advice for any d/s rotor). I know I'll be going back to non-d/s rotors from here on, and will probably make sure to have new ones on the car the next time I take it to the track. As always, YMMV.
Oh, one more thing - for some reason I was under the impression that the Summit rotors were made by R1 Concepts; has anyone else heard that?

Anyone know if the Z28/SS front rotors and pads are larger than the V6? If so, would they fit on the V6 with no modification. I have the Z28 rim option/upgrade. I would like better performance and stopping power. Cool looks would also be a bonus.
