  • Lower Control Arms

My camaro is a 1994 Canadian little trash can wacker.

The balljoints are loose as a brooklyn pussy.

So I pulled everything I got the upper control arms out. That big *** arm that holds the brakes. And the lower control arms are a whole other story.

    I need help.

I got the nuts off the bolts and the nuts will not come out of control arms. Liquid wench is just a tease.

Please help me. I have banged up on the vertical bolts. And am loosing all hope of ever being able to get the ball joints pressed out.

i've never messed with the ball joints in any of my cars, because they are a pain in the @ss. and, on top of that, you need to get an alignment done afterwords, anyway. if you are able to drive it, take it to a shop and let them do it. if you can't drive it, have it towed to a shop. to me, there are some things that aren't worth the time spent for the money saved.

Soak it in PB Blaster overnight. If that doesn't help, put a torch to it to heat it up. Just make sure the PB Blaster's evaporated before adding heat.

Sounds like this is the front lower A arm correct? This is a serious place but when it is hard to read what your trying to say , I won't respond to posts that doesn't give good description of what is going on you say you got the nuts off the bolts and then say the nuts won't come loose. So I don't know what area your talking about front or rear. Rear are LCA's lower control arms, front's are either front lower A arm or upper A arm. So what area are you talking about on the car?

Don't blame you , I just posted because i was bored, lying here in bed , back has been hurting all week, so I usually post more when I'm layed up, gives me something to do and takes my mind off my pain for awhile not thinking about it.

Dam. What about just hack sawing the bolts and bushings because I have new bushings in my garage. Would that be the easy way out I am looking for?

as Pace said: pb blaster ---> heat ---> problem solved.

but if you feel like getting tired and frustrated, hack away man.

cutting could solve the problem, but could just as easily compound the problem... torch em

                              Re: Lower Control Arms

Just heat the piss outta the bolt and apply pressure with a hammer repeatedly and the bolt should come free. But before appling the pressure with the hammer put the nut back on the bolt.
