  • Replacement Shocks?

I have a 2000 Firebird y87 a4 with 941xx miles and need new shocks badly, I got in an accident last month( totally not my fault) and the driver side shock was replaced, but none of the others were. This is my daily driver and im looking for the best shocks that are affordable beings im going off to college in a couple months. I was looking at Bilstein HDs or the slp versions, which is best?

    Re: Replacement Shocks?

the bilstein slps are what came stock in camaro ss i believe. They are pretty good shocks.
the regular bilstien HD shocks are also very good. If your car is lowered though i would reccomend KYB AGX shocks unless you want to go top of the line shocks (konis)

bilsteins and KYBs run around $400, konis run around 700

    Abbott long tubes,homemade true duals,slp ram air,whisper lid,eibach springs,kyb shocks,BMR subframe connectors, BMR LCA reloc brackets,BMR LCAs. T-top/manual converted

QA-1 shocks are great I have the fronts and just got the rear yesterday, they have ride height control and are ADJ. for comfort. The fronts have been outstanding with 300 LB springs and the rear I'm running 1LE springs. I will be selling my rear 10,000-15,000 miles Blistein HD shocks after this weekend I hope. I don't drive much anymore so I'm guessing at the miles, last year I put 4000 miles on my car, so that shows you how much I drive. I'm limited on driving do to medical problems and medication. So I will be asking about $100 for the pair shipped. Just a thought if looking for rear shocks.

i have Koni's too, the best there is, they are not cheap, but it is the money well spend.
In the same time i replaced my swarbars and endlinks with SS-ones.
          it's a huge difference

With Koni's can you adjust the height of the car or is it just ADJ. rebound, because the QA-1' s have coil over for the front for ride height adj. and the rear ride height adj. and reound adj. The QA-1 are more expensive than the Koni's or about the same becasue the shocks can be adjusted to any ride height and you can adjust the rebound and they can be rebuilt also. My front and rear QA-1's came to alittle over $800 shipped with a spanner wrench to adjust height.
