Bottom line is I just didnt want to fork out the money 20-30$ plus shipping to get one of the safety loops, for it not to fit on the car....
did you not see the one i posted?

it will strengthen the frame up and is also one guarenteed to fit your car with no modifications

and where are the rubber grommets that wear out and cause the exhaust to sag, i have never seen any rubber stuff around the exhaust other than on the hanger in the back of the muffler

Those are the rubber things I was talking about. Other than that.. If you have pipes bending on their own.. You have problems.

As far as i'm concerned, that crossbrace is like a DS loop. If I ever get worried about it, I'll take a couple pieces of bent steel and weld them to the cross brace itself. Or I'll buy something that looks nice. Either way, this is an easily solved problem that's being a bit over analyzed for some reason.

I just saw the link now actually...How hard is it to remove the driveshaft though (auto car)...I have never done that before, I heard it has to be set a certain way or it will slip out?

I'm only over analyzing it because I dont fully understand it...i need it when I put drag radials on or they kick me off the track...

I know about our engines and crap now...Ive torn mine down for the cam swap...Im starting to move into suspension and what not now...

an auto requires you to take 8 bolts out to remove the driveshaft:

4 bolts on the driveshaft tunnel brace, and 4 bolts that hold the u joint to the yolk on the rear end

the driveshaft wont slip out of the transmission unless you actually pull it out

just leave it in the transmission and slip the tunnel brace on from the back of the driveshaft then put the 4 bolts back in, and bolt the safety loop in

put the car on jackstands though, since you will need to move the back tires so you can get to all of the bolts on the yolk

thats sounds easy enough, I'll go with this one then thanks...beats having to modify one to fit since this is meant for it....

edit* I was actually thinking of putting it exactly where the crossbrace was....

Only if you run 13.99 or quicker. Good idea to have one though.

On the universal one, make sure you have a drill, port-a-band and welder. They work very well if you take the time and install it right. Wife had her front wheels and couple of inches in the air when the front yoke decided not to make a pass anymore and the loop is the only thing that survived. Make the bolts as close to the loop as you can. I would pull the seats and carpet, build some heavy washers and bolt it through the floor.
