  • Symptoms of bad rear LCA bushings?

    1997 Camaro 158,000 miles

My suspension is all stock except for ES sway bar end links and Monroe rear shocks. My question is what are the main symptoms of bad rear LCA bushings? My rear end feels so sloppy.

    Thanks.

I get sqeaking going over bumps and a clickclickclick sound when taking off. I've eliminated the torque arm bushing since I replaced it with a ES Poly one.

Other than those noises, youll feel the sloppyness you spoke of. get under there and check the bolts for tightness.

The bolts are all tight. It feels like the rearend is moving around when making turns. I can almost feel it on the shifter.

Might be feeling some extra wheel hop on worn rear LCA bushings. Some Moog hard rubber bushings would make a good replacement.

check what the 4 bolts are all torqued to currently, and if its between 50 and 70 ftlbs then try torqueing them down 10 ftlbs more.

I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...
