I want to do an ls swap with a 5 speed. New suspension and redo the interior. When I bought it I didn't think it was bad but the more I look the more I find they half assed things

Fair enough - you may want to look into doing the 6spd swap as well. I don't believe our 5 spd manual transmissions mate up to the LS nor are they strong enough to hold the power

Yeah , T5 pretty weak and won’t bolt up. T56 will be perfect but their expensive.
