I have a 3.42 Zexel in mine. What year is your vehicle? Mine is a 1993 so it has rear drum brakes, but you could swap the disc brake items over if yours is a newer one. I am located in Louisville, KY.

I'm not sure if I would want a Torsen unit. I would rather go with the Auburn carier. Have not heard anything good about the Torsen. Of course, with our v-6 cars, probably wouldnt' break it. I got a 3.42 out of a 96 T/A with the LT1 and 5 spd and put in my 94 Bird. I ended up changing it back to the factory 3.23 gears b/c I drive 120 miles everyday.

It's called Zexel-torsen. The other kind is an Auburn or an Eaton which use a clutch/spring setup.

If it is the stock rear end, you can look at the manufacturer's sticker in the glove box for the axle code.

if the car you got the rearend off of was an auto and it was stock, it wasn't a 3.42 - it's either a 2.73 or a 3.23

also, if you have the RPO sticker, GU2 is 2.73 and GU5 is 3.23.
