2008 Silverado tailgate stuck closed

Went to dump some trash off at the transfer station and couldn’t get the tailgate down. Found a couple of videos which helped a lot and took apart the handle and sure enough left side rod clip broke. Got some new ones from Parts Geek , $8 but shipping was $12.lol Might do both clips while I have it taken apart. I guess it’s pretty common on GM trucks for these to break. Mines lasted 15 years, not bad.

The worst thing that happened to my wife's beetle was the glove compartment won't open. Once I got it opened...it won't close anymore. I went to the junkyard and pulled out another one.

That sounds worse than my tailgate.lol I should get the plastic rod clips Monday and should have it back together.

Got the parts today and it’s all back together and working. Got my noise canceling box in behind the stereo, working great no high pitched noise from the speakers.
